Info About Valentines Day - Sacajawea // Información sobre el Día de San Valentín - Sacajawea

Sacajawea Families -

Happy February! Valentine's day is coming up on February 14th.  Each of our grade level teacher teams will communicate soon about if, how, and when Valentines will be celebrated.  Most will be exchanging messages or cards.  Some may make their own in class.

Please do not send any food, candy, or treats.

No outside visitors will be allowed in classrooms.

While your child needs to know all the time that you love them, please save any individual messages or gifts for your own child for home.  Please don’t send them to school.  They are not really helpful in a classroom, and sometimes can be hurtful for your child or their peers.

We love our Sacajawea families.

Thanks

Mr. Webster

Familias de Sacajawea-

¡Feliz febrero!

Gracias,

Sr. Webster

Guess Our Christmas Doors - SAC

Our Skyhawk teachers have the Christmas spirit (and maybe a little bit of holiday sass mixed in there).  See if you can guess which door belongs to which teacher.  Post your guesses in the comments.  Some of them have clues to throw you off. Some of them have clues that we had to cover up, so they won't give it away.  Feel free to comment on your favorite doors too.

A Merry Christmas With Our Sacajawea Family

What a wonderful Christmas season it has been with our Sacajawea kids and families. Thanks to all of those who helped make it a special time.

Wishing each of you well, as you spend time with your families.

Happy New Year.

Thanks to the Albertsons division office for putting on a schoolwide Christmas celebration.

And to the Albertsons team who put on an after school activity for our families too.

Thanks to CHS Chambers for serenading our Sacajawea students and staff.

We had a wonderful holiday concert with our 2nd and 3rd graders.  Thanks, Mrs. Evans and students.

And our annual schoolwide Christmas Sing-Along carried on a long Sacajawea tradition.

We look forward to seeing all of you back at school on January 6th.  Enjoy your families and your vacation.  We are glad that we get to share the joy of life with each of you.

Veteran’s Day Assembly

On Friday, November 9th, Sacajawea Elementary held its Veterans Day Assembly.  Students sang songs, did a skit about the history of the wars, and honored veterans from our Sacajawea students and staff.  Many of the veterans were in the audience and they stood as their service was described and the students, staff, and attendees applauded them.  They also received a certificate honoring their service.  Mrs. Evans prepared a slideshow of veterans from our students and staff that could not be in attendance.  Thank you to Mrs. Evans for all of the work she put into making this assembly memorable.  Thank you also to the people that attended the assembly and the students for participating in it.  Finally, a big thank you goes to all veterans for keeping America safe.

Sacajawea’s Santa’s Workshop

Every year, our students get the opportunity to experience the wonderful feeling of giving to others.  Each child in the school gets to pick out two presents to give to other family members.  After picking from donated items, volunteers wrap the presents for them.  The children have a look of joy and pride as they carry their wrapped presents.

Thank you to Tish Rice, for organizing and overseeing this year’s Santa’s Workshop, and to the many parent and community members that helped her.  Thank you also to Vickie Jones and the students and families at Cole Valley Christian School for collecting donations for this event.  It is so appreciated that our students have this great opportunity.  #Generosity

Donate to Santa's Workshop

Season Greetings!
Only 17 days until Santa’s Workshop kicks off!  Donations are still needed in order for each child to choose 2 gifts for their loved ones.

Items can be new or gently used.
No clothes or heavy items children cannot carry home.
Items can range from household objects, home decor, dad-friendly items, toys (for siblings), ornaments, kitchen items, and or anything that you think a child would choose for a family member to brighten their Christmas Day.

We would greatly appreciate any donations to meet the goal of 2 gifts per child.

If you want to donate, there are donation barrels in the front lobby of the school.  Also, you can drop donations off at the Sacajawea office counter.
Want to get involved or volunteer?  Contact Tish Rice.  Her email is:tishu66@yahoo.com or you can get her phone number by calling the SAC office or by emailing any of the SAC office staff.

Sometimes groups of people at work like to find a place to donate for the holidays. If so, this is a good way.  It helps our kids make someone else's day by showing them they are loved. Pass the word along.

Thanks
The Sacajawea PTO

Happy April Fools Day

This morning, this is what I found at my office door. Each of the notes says,
"Mr. Webster,
I have really bad news"
and then I open it and there is an April Fools and a nice note.

Thanks to Mrs. Saunders' first grade class for this little prank.  It made me smile.

I love working with the kids and teachers at Sacajawea.  What a great place to grow up.

Christmas Comes Early For Sacajawea 3rd Graders

On Thursday, December 18th our third grade students received a special visit from their own personal "Santas," who delivered books and giant smiles.  High school senior, Lia Rehman, president of the Boise High School History Club, along with another member of the club, Aleysa Orr, came to pass out the books their club had helped to buy for the students.  Lia said the History Club wanted to encourage students to read more and believed providing them with books they loved to read would do this.  Through their fundraising efforts each 3rd grader at Sacajawea was able to order a book they wanted to read.

Thanks to these generous students from Boise High School and to the other members of their history club.
