Mr. De La Cruz featured on Channel 7 - Innovative Educator

 

Sacajawea's Mr. De La Cruz was featured on Channel 7 for his innovative integration of literacy skills in PE.  They highlighted a kindergarten favorite, alphabet tag.

We are proud of Mr. De La Cruz, and all of our Skyhawk teachers.  And we are proud of our #SkyhawkLearners too.

How To Find and Claim Lost and Found Items - Sacajawea - Cómo encontrar y reclamar artículos perdidos y encontrados

This fall the Sacajawea student council took up a service project for our students and families.  Many students wear warm clothes to school in the morning because it is chilly, and then they leave them somewhere, usually outside.  

Our student council has worked to organize and display these online so both kids and families can easily look at what was found.  HERE is a link to the online catalog of what is in our lost and found, or go to http://bit.ly/SAClostandfound.  It will be updated periodically. There is a short form linked to those visuals for families or kids to claim their missing item.  We will drop it off with them.

They have also helped students label their tags with their names so their things don't end up in our lost and found. Mr. De La Cruz and Ms. Barbret are our student council advisors.

Families, please please please write names on tags.  Last names are fine if they might be passed on to siblings.  Of course, it’s best to put names on the insides, so they aren’t visible all the time.

We can only keep missing items for a month or so before we donate items.

Este otoño el consejo estudiantil de Sacajawea tomó un proyecto de servicio para nuestros estudiantes y familias. Muchos estudiantes usan ropa de abrigo a la escuela por la mañana porque hace frío, y luego los dejan en algún lugar, usualmente afuera.

Nuestro consejo estudiantil ha trabajado para organizarlos y mostrarlos en línea para que tanto los niños como las familias puedan ver fácilmente lo que se encontró. Hay un breve formulario vinculado a esas imágenes para que las familias o los niños reclamen su artículo perdido. Lo dejaremos con ellos.

También han ayudado a los estudiantes a etiquetar sus etiquetas con sus nombres para que sus cosas no terminen en nuestros objetos perdidos. El Sr. De La Cruz y la Sra. Barbret son nuestros asesores del consejo estudiantil.

Familias, por favor escriba los nombres en las etiquetas. Los apellidos están bien si pueden ser pasados a hermanos. Por supuesto, lo mejor es poner nombres en el interior, para que no sean visibles todo el tiempo.

Sólo podemos mantener los artículos perdidos durante un mes más o menos antes de donar artículos.
