Sacajawea Summer STEM Camp- Registration -- Campamento de STEM- Registración

Sacajawea Students, join us this summer for a week full of fun STEM activities! STEM camp will be about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math - STEM!

We will hold two weeks of STEM Camp. The 1st week will be for incoming 1st-3rd grade students. The second week will be for incoming 4th and 5th graders.

We are now accepting applications for our campers. Applications will be time stamped and will be taken as a first come basis. There are a limited amount of spots for each camp.

Our biggest ask is your complete commitment, in ensuring that your student makes the most of this opportunity. If a student signs up but does not attend, it takes the opportunity away from another student.

Here are some important notes about our camp:

  • Camp is for students coming into the 2020-2021 school year. Sorry 5th graders- Middle school will have so many opportunities for you!
  • So, if you have a kid currently in 1st grade, they will register as a second grader.
  • We will not be providing transportation. Families are responsible for getting kids to camp each morning, and home each afternoon - on time.
  • Your registration will be signed off by your student’s teacher.
  • Lunch and a snack will be provided every day.
  • If all the camp spots have been filled, your student will be placed on a waiting list. If a spot becomes open, you will be notified.
  • Camp spots are reserved for Sacajawea Students only.

  • No proporcionaremos transporte.

Horario:
de 8:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. todos los días

Dónde: Sacajawea Elementary, 1710 N Illinois Ave, Caldwell.

Rotation #2: Macro invertebrate collection and identification

Rotation #3: Tour of "the chocolate river"... right after lunch 🤪🤢

Rotation #4: Hands-on Educational center

5th Grade Students Create Anti-Bullying Projects

5th Grade workshop students researched some articles about bullying and worked on pulling important details from texts. They then spent a couple of days choosing and planning a project to bring awareness to the topic. You may notice a chunk of them wearing blue today since that's the color that represents the World Day of Bullying Prevention, which is today, October 1.
The self-elected projects included:

  • Informational video
  • Slideshow
  • Posters
  • Bookmarks (to be handed out at lunch)
  • Homemade t-shirts

Sacajawea’s Fifth Grade Students Read to First Graders!

Recently, a group of fifth grade students came down to read books to the first grade students.  It was fun seeing all of the students interacting together around books. The older ones were explaining things and the younger students were asking questions.  Thank you Kristy Rodan for arranging this and having your students so prepared to read to the first graders!
