4th Grade-Telling Time in the "Real World"

Our creative fourth-grade teachers found a way to make math more fun and applicable to real life. They set up their classrooms as doctor's offices with "patients" waiting to be seen by the doctors. The students who were the doctors were checking on their patients to see if it was "time" to see them. Each headband had a time marked on it. Once they saw a patient, they wrote the analogue time in digital form on their "doctors notes" page. The focus of the activity was to practice telling time on analogue clocks for their math measurement unit.
