First Graders Rocking Their Reading

First grade is stepping it up for their spring reading. The students are working hard to read every night and meet their goals on the "Read-O-Meter". The "Read-O-Meter" measures the average words per minute (WPM) read in 1st grade. Here are some of the incentives they will receive for reaching their goal:

•  Throwing a pie in their teachers face
•  A banana split party 
•  Possibly going to Luby Park for an end of year celebration. 

The kids are well on their way to reaching their goals. They have already increased from 40 to 51 WPM! This is directly related to their hard work ethic.

*So when you see a first grader remind them to keep "rocking" their reading.*
