Summer Library at Sacajawea // Biblioteca de verano en Sacajawea

Sacajawea families, there is still time for you to visit us during our summer library hours.

The library at Sacajawea is open on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays until June 30th. 

The time frame is from 9:00a.m to 1:00p.m 

Your student can check out books, participate in planned activities, use the computers and have fun!

If you student would like to check out a book, please make sure they have their student ID number with them. They will need that to be able to check out books.

WICAP at Sacajawea on Wednesdays // WICAP en Sacajawea los miércoles

Sacajawea families and community, we have partnered with WICAP Community Collaborative to help connect our families to resources provided by WICAP.

 WICAP will be at Sacajawea on Wednesdays from 9:00a.m to 4:00p.m. 

They will be closed for lunch from 12:00p.m to 1:00p.m.

Resources vary from rental assistance, to food boxes and much more.

Monday 5/9 - Twin Day

• Find someone to be your twin and coordinate similar outfits

Tuesday 5/10 - Mix and Match day

• Wear clothing that doesn't necessarily go together or match (i.e. winter coat and shorts / long striped socks with spotted pants and different patterned shirt?)

Wednesday 5/11 - 90's Day

• Dressing in clothes from the 90's

Thursday 5/12 - Dress Like a Teacher Day

• Coordinate (or don't) and dress like a teacher/staff member (i.e. Button up shirt, tie - Webster / Sweats and a sweatshirt with a whistle - DLC / etc.)

Friday 5/13 - Anything But a Backpack Day

• Guidelines: SEE These slides for details and examples
• All items must be school appropriate
• Items must be as close to a backpack size as possible
• Items can NOT be items that could scratch the floor or stain carpet
• No oversized items
• No living things 
• Items can be confiscated by teachers in classrooms if they become a constant distraction. 
• Items can and will be taken away and help at the office until the end of the day. 
• If you are not sure about an item, ASK. Ask a teacher or a student council member on their thoughts.

Sacajawea Summer Camps - Join us for some summer fun! // Campamentos de verano de Sacajawea - ¡Únase a nosotros para divertirse durante el verano!

 

Sacajawea Elementary will be hosting a variety of camps this summer and we are so excited to have your students join us for some fun, all while learning! 

Our goal is to provide enriching, fun experiences for our students and continue their learning. 

Themes of camps vary from STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology), Space Camp, Music Camp, Theater Camp and so much more. 

Some key details: 

• 3 Weeks of Camps
• Camps will run through June 
• Five days a week 
• 8:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m 
• Camps will be broken down by grade and theme. 
• Meals will be provided. 
• Transportation will be provided. 
• **You will register your student under the grade they will be for the 2022-2023 school year. 
• **Some camps will be available to outgoing 5th graders, depending on the week. Those students should also sign up for great camps at Syringa Middle School  

Use this Google Form to register your student for our summer camps. If you have more than one student please submit the form for one student and then open the form again to fill it out for your next student.

La Primaria Sacajawea organizará una variedad de campamentos este verano y estamos muy emocionados de que sus estudiantes se unan a nosotros para divertirse, ¡mientras aprenden! 

Nuestro objetivo es brindar experiencias enriquecedoras y divertidas para nuestros estudiantes y continuar su aprendizaje.

Do you have a child that will be 5 years old before September 1st, 2022? Save a spot for your child to start Kindergarten in the fall at Sacajawea! 

We will be holding Kindergarten Registration on Wednesday, May 4th from 7:45 to 4:30 PM. You can enroll your child starting now.  https://bit.ly/3WVUT

Sacajawea Families -

As promised, the College of Idaho Yotes Basketball program has found a new night for Sacajawea kids and families to attend. Each kid who has earned one or more tickets will get those vouchers from their homeroom teachers by showing them their record of service hours.  Bring those vouchers to the main entrance at the C of I Gym.  If there are additional family members who need to buy tickets, they may buy them at that entrance.

Sacajawea kids and families will sit in the upstairs bleachers. Kids will get their t-shirts in the bleachers. 

Game Times for Saturday, February 12th

• 3PM - Women’s Game Starts

• 4:50PM - Yotes Cheer Squad will bring students down to the floor for recognition before the men's game starts.  **Make sure you arrive in time to do this.  

• 5PM - Men’s Game Starts (It will probably finish at about 6:30 or 6:45).

Here's a short video of the night when Lewis and Clark, Wilson, and Lincoln got to attend a week or so ago. Let's see if we can have even more kids and families there. LINK

Masks are required.  There will be some on hand, in case families forget.

Como se prometió, el programa College of Idaho Yotes Basketball ha encontrado una nueva noche para que los niños y las familias de Sacajawea asistan. Cada niño que haya ganado uno o más boletos recibirá esos cupones de sus maestros de

Girls on the Run- Spring 2022! Registration now open! // ¡Inscripciones ya abiertas!

Sacajawea Families- we will be hosting the Girls on the Run program at Sacajawea this Spring! 

What is Girls on the Run? It’s an after-school program for EVERY Girl! Helps empower girls and promote physical activity! 

Girls will meet twice weekly for 9 weeks, after school. Highly trained and caring coaches will lead 3rd-5th grade girls through interactive lessons that include physical activity. The season will end with a girl-led community impact project and a non competitive 5K on May 21st, 2022!

Familias de Sacajawea: ¡Estamos organizando el programa de Girls on the Run para esta primavera! 

¿Qué es Girls on the Run? ¡Es un programa extracurricular para TODAS las chicas! ¡Ayuda a empoderar a las niñas y promover la actividad física! 

Las niñas se reunirán dos veces por semana durante 9 semanas, después de la escuela. Entrenadores altamente capacitados y cariñosos guiarán a las niñas de 3º a 5º grado a través de lecciones interactivas que incluyen actividad física. La temporada terminará con un proyecto de impacto comunitario dirigido por niñas y una carrera de 5K el 21 de mayo.
