Girls on the Run- What a great season!
What an amazing season! Sacajawea hosted Girls on the Run this past Spring!
We had a great group of 3rd and 5th grade girls who showed up to every practice with a positive attitude ready to take on the day! The girls not only ran, and created healthy physical habits, but they also learned new ways to build confidence, empathize with others and give back to their community.
When coaches asked 3rd grade girls about next year and GOTR they all said they would like to join again next year. Our 5th grade girls will be in a new community as they move on to middle school. However, as they shared plans for the summer and next year some of the girls included running goals such as track, cross country, and running in the neighborhood with friends.
To finish off the great season the girls completed a 5K race on May 22nd. Every single one of the girls gave it their best and finished the race!
There is no doubt that the season has positively impacted this group of girls. We are proud of each and every one of them!

Great Opportunity to Serve Kids and Families at Sacajawea - School Secretary
Please pass this to someone you know who might be interested and qualified.
Sacajawea is looking for an amazing new secretary, as Hortencia Lopez will not be returning to Sacajawea next school year. Mrs. Lopez does a tremendous job with parents, students, and staff, so she will be very hard to replace. She is the hub for so much that happens at Sacajawea.
Our secretary manages the many processes in the office and really keeps our school running. She contributes towards making it a great place for both kids and adults. She is one of the first people many meet at our school, so she is extremely important.
We need someone:
- Whose positive attitude is contagious, is fantastic at customer service and is reliable under pressure.
- Who can maintain their cool and attention to detail, even in a high energy elementary school office.
- Who is comfortable with direct interaction with adults and with kids and should also be proficient at using technology for communication and record-keeping.
- Whose integrity is outstanding, and who can build trust with parents, staff, students, patrons, and supervisors.
- Who is bilingual in Spanish and English (both written and spoken preferred), so that she can serve all of our families well.
- Whose phone etiquette is superb.
- Preferably, who has experience with managing budgets, purchasing, and with managing staff time-keeping for payroll.
Most importantly, we need someone who loves kids and families.
This is a fantastic way to make a difference in our school and community.
If you know someone who would be great at this please encourage them to apply online at THIS LINK. They can feel free to direct questions to Mr. Webster (pwebster@caldwellschools.org / 208-455-3333 x1437).
Questions about salary and benefits can be posed to Patti Wade (pwade@caldwellschools.org / 208-455-3300) or you can view the classified salary scale directly at THIS LINK or go to www.caldwellschools.org and then to HR and to Employment.
Thanks for your help spreading the word. We are looking forward to meeting the next great member of our Sacajawea family. And, if you happen to drop by the office, please thank Mrs. Lopez for the years she has devoted to the kids, families, and staff at Sacajawea.
Paul Webster
