I'm sure some kindergarten parents would like to know whether they are in AM or PM kinder. If you registered in May, then likely you are in the time you requested. We can confirm that on registration day. If you haven't yet registered for kindergarten then get that done on August 3rd please. It will take a bit longer to place late kinder registrations into AM and PM groups, but we'll be happy to get that info to you as soon as you can.
The purpose for the early release time is to give teachers and staff an opportunity to take part in professional development, without having to be out of the classroom. Research indicates that this professional learning focused on effective teaching for learning has a bigger impact than almost any other strategy. The effect of "collective teacher efficacy" is a powerful thing.
Some important dates to note:
- Registration - August 3 - 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Meet the Teacher Night - August 10 - 4PM to 6:00PM (Teachers will be listed that afternoon)
- 1st day of school - August 15
- Last day of school - May 24
- Parent Teacher Conferences - September 21 & 22, February 15 & 16
- Christmas break - December 25 - January 5
- Spring Break - March 26-30
- Last Day of School - May 24
