Starting the New Year in Remote Learning

Sacajawea Families -

On Monday, the Board of Trustees decided to move toward serving students in-person in our schools.

Of course tomorrow we begin Christmas Break (Dec.18 to Jan 4). Classes begin again with remote learning like we are doing now from Tuesday, January 5th to Friday, January 15th.

We will return to a hybrid (AM or PM) in-person learning schedule on Tuesday, January 19, 2021

We recognize that resuming in-person learning during a time of substantial community spread will be a challenge.

We will be prepared to monitor the health of staff and student illnesses, communicating those, as is necessary.  If necessary, we may need to close certain programs or classes, in order to protect students and staff, and if we don’t have enough healthy staff to adequately serve our students.

We encourage you to continue to protect the health of your students, your family, and of our community by wearing masks when with people outside your household, by maintaining distance, and by washing hands frequently.

We look forward to having our kids back in our classrooms.  We are working hard to make remote learning effective for our kids, but most kids would be served better with at least some time in the classroom daily.

These are hard times for our families and our community.  We appreciate how hard our families are working to continue helping your kids learn.  Please reach out if you or your family need help.

Thanks

From The Sacajawea Staff

Christmas Clothes on Monday! - Ropa de Navidad!

On Monday, Sacajawea encourages students and families to pull out their ugly Christmas sweaters, Santa hats, seasonal socks, and anything else that helps put you in the holiday spirit.  Wear your festive attire for your Google Meetings!  This in one way in which we can celebrate the season together.

Guess Our Christmas Doors - SAC

Our Skyhawk teachers have the Christmas spirit (and maybe a little bit of holiday sass mixed in there).  See if you can guess which door belongs to which teacher.  Post your guesses in the comments.  Some of them have clues to throw you off. Some of them have clues that we had to cover up, so they won't give it away.  Feel free to comment on your favorite doors too.

Skyhawk of the Week - December 4, 2020

Thanks Mayor Nancolas - The Mayor's Walking Challenge

Mayor Nancolas dropped in to Mrs. Prall's 4th grade PE class this morning to deliver a check to Mr. De La Cruz and all of our Skyhawks.  I think Mayor Nancolas outwalked all of us this October, but he and the city are still generously supporting the physical fitness needs of Sacajawea and the Caldwell kids.  We plan to invest the $333 in equipment to help all of our kids be more active.

Fitness matters.  Keep moving, Skyhawks!

Thanks, Mayor Nancolas and the City of Caldwell.
