Sacajawea Students Receive the Gift of Giving!

Last week, Sacajawea’s PTO put on the annual Santa’s Workshop event.  Each student  was able to purchase two gifts for 25 cents each (money is supplied to those without money so all get to participate) to give to a family member or someone special.  It is a thrill to see the delight on the students’ faces as they pick out the gifts!  Thank you to Cole Valley Christian School and others for collecting donations for this project.  Thank you to Destiny Calderwood for heading it up.  Thanks also to the many volunteers.  There were family members, former employees, community volunteers, and even a former Sacajawea family.  It warmed our hearts seeing so many people willing to volunteer to bring this joy to our students.

Christmas Letters to Service Members

The students in the Caldwell School District in Idaho (Including 4 classes at Sacajawea - Vrooman, Prall, Cataline, and Washburn) decided that they wanted to send personal thank you's to the troops for serving during this Christmas season.

The USO Northwest was able to get the cards and hard them out to the Soldiers and Airman on JBLM before Christmas. A set of our letters also went to US service members on the east coast.

Some of the pics are posted in this Flicker Album: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmvyCaxn

Second Graders Get Books!

Thank you to the Caldwell Rotary Club for giving each second grade student at Sacajawea Elementary a book.  The people from the club came with a great selection of books and had the second grade teachers pick out a book for each of their students.  Then they came back on Friday and presented the books.  Inside was a sticker stating it was from the Caldwell Rotary Club and it had a place for the student to put a name.  The joy in the students’ faces was wonderful.  Also, we have seen lots of second graders with their noses in books.  Thanks again to the Caldwell Rotary Club!

Second and Third Grade Music Program

On Thursday, Nov. 29th Sacajawea Elementary held its second and third grade music program.  It was a delightful program with bells, chimes, dancing reindeer, and beautiful children’s voices.  Thank you Mrs. Evans for all of the work you did putting this fun program together.  Thanks also to our wonderful students and to their families for attending.  It was an entertaining evening.
