Sacajawea’s Field Day!

Tuesday was Sacajawea’s Field Day.  The students hopped, ran, skipped, jumped, pulled, crawled, and dodged their way through 11 fun stations.  They did everything from volley ball and musical hula hoops to an obstacle course and tug-of-war.  Thank you Mr. Thomas for putting this fun day together.  Also, thank you to our specials teachers and aides for running the stations.  There were many smiles on our students’ faces!

Beat the Summer Slump Night was Fun!

On May 10th, Sacajawea Elementary held a “Beat the Summer Slump” family night.  About 300 people enjoyed doing fitness activities, playing math games, getting lots of resources, and eating tacos.  Thank you to St. Luke’s for supplying the fruit and snacks for this great evening.  Thanks also to Mr. Thomas for putting together and overseeing all of the fitness activities, the Caldwell High Seniors for helping, Amy Cataline for teaching parents about Lexia, and all of the teachers for putting together math games and lists of resources for parents.  We are especially grateful to the families that attended this entertaining evening.

Spring has Sprung at Sacajawea Elementary’s First Grade!

Sacajawea’s First Grade Students have been learning about weather, animals, and holidays.  They have been doing some typical spring activities.  Mrs. Saunders’ class made May Day flowers.  Mrs. Rohall’s and Mrs. Friddle’s classes flew kites after reading The Kite and learning about wind.  Mrs. Braun’s and Mrs. Rohall’s class learned about butterflies.  Of course, all of the teachers made sure students went home with Mother’s Day presents!  Our spring celebration was topped off with a trip to the Zoo Boise and the Discovery Center.  Thank you to all of the family members that helped chaperone this event,
