Computers For Kids

Sacajawea families can take advantage of a great local program. The non-profit organization Computers for Kids gives students an opportunity to have a home computer to help with school work and practice using technology outside of school hours. Applications are available in the office at Sacajawea or online at cfkidaho.org.

Scholarships are available for students on the lunch program for K-12th grade. No student will be turned down. However, we do have limited scholarships each month. When filled, students will be added to the next available class. Scholarships only cover the fee for the option A computer. To apply for a scholarship, please indicate it on the application.

Without a scholarship the cost for a computer and technical support ranges from$35.00 to $65.00. All students are also required to write an essay explaining whythey want a computer and how they would use it. Teachers are willing to help with the essays in class, so ask your child’s teacher if your child has written a letter. Thousands of students have been assisted to date, with the possibilities for further distributions growing exponentially. This is a result of new computer products being developed and produced, and companies replacing and donating their existing systems.
