#SkyhawkProud Staff Parade - Coming To A Neighborhood Near You - Friday 5/22 PM -- Desfile de Maestros de Sacajawea - Llegando a un vecindario cercano a usted - Viernes 5/22 PM
Friday is our last school day of this unusual school year. We wouldn’t have chosen to finish our year this way, with this soft school closure. We know you wouldn’t either.
However, we are so proud of the way our students and families have made the most of this time. You have faithfully communicated with your teachers. You have worked online and on paper. You have kept returning for more learning materials every two weeks. Our teachers and staff have learned so much, and I’m sure our families have too. It’s not a perfect system, but we are proud of the way our kids, families and staff have made the most of our situation.
Friday is our “last day of school.” Our tradition is to wave all our buses off in a final farewell for the year. However, we don’t have buses right now, and we don’t have our kids here to cheer on, as they head home and into summer.
So, we want to bring our farewell celebration parade to a neighborhood near you. Friday afternoon the SAC staff will drive through much of our attendance zone. We can’t get to everyone’s street, but we are trying to get within a few blocks of most of our families. Check out the route and the estimated schedule. If you can come outside, or walk a block or two, we’d love to wave our kids off, and wish you a wonderful summer.

El viernes es nuestro último día de clases de este año escolar inusual. No hubiéramos elegido terminar nuestro año de esta manera, con este cierre de escuela. Sabemos que ustedes tampoco lo habrian querido así.
Sin embargo, estamos muy orgullosos de la forma en que nuestros estudiantes y familias han aprovechado al máximo este tiempo. Se han comunicado fielmente con sus maestros. Han trabajado en línea y en papel. Han seguido regresando por más materiales de aprendizaje cada dos semanas. Nuestros maestros y el personal han aprendido mucho, y estoy seguro de que nuestras familias también. No es un sistema perfecto, pero estamos orgullosos de la forma en que nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal han aprovechado al máximo nuestra situación.
El viernes es nuestro "último día de escuela". Nuestra tradición es despedir a todos nuestros autobuses en una despedida final del año. Sin embargo, no tenemos autobuses en este momento, y no tenemos a nuestros estudiantes aquí para animarlos, ya que se dirigen a casa y comienzan el verano.
Entonces, queremos llevar nuestro desfile de celebración de despedida a un vecindario cerca de usted. EELR & Report Card Distribution 5/18 and 5/19
Sacajawea Families -
We will distribute our final set of learning packets on Monday, May 18th and Tuesday, May 19th from 10:00 to 11:30. We will also be handing out report cards at this time.
The distribution line will be outside in the bus lanes near the Kg/1st grade playground.
Please return any library books and chromebooks you may have at home.
If you are not able to make it during those scheduled times, please call our school office and we will try to work something out. There is someone to answer in the office daily from 9AM to 1PM (208-455-3333).

Sacajawea Summer STEM Camp- Registration -- Campamento de STEM- Registración
Sacajawea Students, join us this summer for a week full of fun STEM activities! STEM camp will be about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math - STEM!
We will hold two weeks of STEM Camp. The 1st week will be for incoming 1st-3rd grade students. The second week will be for incoming 4th and 5th graders.
We are now accepting applications for our campers. Applications will be time stamped and will be taken as a first come basis. There are a limited amount of spots for each camp.
Our biggest ask is your complete commitment, in ensuring that your student makes the most of this opportunity. If a student signs up but does not attend, it takes the opportunity away from another student.
Here are some important notes about our camp:
- Camp is for students coming into the 2020-2021 school year. Sorry 5th graders- Middle school will have so many opportunities for you!
- So, if you have a kid currently in 1st grade, they will register as a second grader.
- We will not be providing transportation. Families are responsible for getting kids to camp each morning, and home each afternoon - on time.
- Your registration will be signed off by your student’s teacher.
- Lunch and a snack will be provided every day.
- If all the camp spots have been filled, your student will be placed on a waiting list. If a spot becomes open, you will be notified.
- Camp spots are reserved for Sacajawea Students only.
When:
July 6th-10th: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Graders (next school year)
July 13th-18th: 4th and 5th Graders (next school year)
Time:
8:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m daily
Where: Sacajawea Elementary, 1710 N Illinois Ave, Caldwell.

Sacajawea Scholarship Presentation - Yamileth Escobedo -- Presentación de Becas de Sacajawea - Yamileth Escobedo
Today the Sacajawea Student Council will continue a long tradition of recognizing one of our graduates with a scholarship. The student council has selected Yamileth Escobedo, who will graduate from Caldwell High School this spring.
This is the Yamileth I (Mr. Webster) met when I came to Sacajawea, and she was in 5th grade. Responsible. Respectful. Involved. Determined. Kind.
You are invited to join the Sacajawea Student Council for their presentation online at 4:15 today. Library Books Return - Vuelta de libros de la biblioteca
We have placed a book drop outside the front entrance from 9am-1pm, Monday-Friday to collect library books.
You may also turn them in during learning packet pickup time on 5/4 and 5/5.
The last day to return library books is Tuesday, May 12th. After that day, all unreturned library books will be marked as lost and the system will generate a fine equal to the cost of replacing the book.
If you have questions or would like to confirm what books your student has checked out, contact your student’s teacher or the librarian, Mrs. Brown, at kbrown@caldwellschools.org.
