Enjoying Sunshine and a Book With 3rd Grade

Sacajawea's 3rd grade team decided it was too beautiful of a day to be stuck inside doing our AR reading time. So we took the students outside to soak up some vitamin D and foster the love of reading.

Second Grade Students Study Balance and Motion!

Recently, Sacajawea’s second grade students rotated classes each Wednesday to learn about balance and motion.  They made marshmallow shooters, mobiles, structures, and objects that rolled down ramps.  This was a great learning experience for all of our second grade students.  If you would like to design rolling objects, please come to Sacajawea’s Family STEM and Fitness Night (April 11th 6:00-7:45) as this is one of the many activities.

Sacajawea's Family STEM & Fitness Night is Thursday, April 11th!

Let's get ready to have some fun! The STEM activities will be from 6:00-7:30 and Fitness activities will go from 6:30-7:30. The fitness activities that families can participate in are tetherball, basketball, pickleball, football toss, kickball, and a crossfit course.

Some of the STEM activities are building animal houses, making kazoos, building tall towers and weight bearing structures, designing and testing rolling objects, and making constellations. There will also be STEM activities brought in by our community partners and a chance to view the science experiments your child did in class.

Your family will be able to enjoy a taco salad dinner after doing a STEM activity and get a smoothie after a fitness activity.   If they do both a STEM activity and a fitness activity, they will get both a taco salad dinner and a smoothie! We look forward to seeing you at this great event!

Thanks to Deer Flat Youth - Spring Break Project at Sacajawea

Thanks to the Deer Flat Youth group.  This Wednesday about 15 teens and young adults spent part of their spring break helping Sacajawea with projects around the school.  We got a lot of work done in one day.

  • Painted a new #SkyhawkLeaders wall for positive office referrals (more info to come soon)
  • Wiped down all student desks with Clorox wipes (here's to fewer germs spreading after spring break)
  • Wiped down gym walls (years of hands and feet add up)
  • Dusted all classroom blinds
  • Cleaned all outside entrance windows (including the high ones)
  • Distributed 60 cubic yards of playground bark for padding around exercise equipment and rock wall
  • Painted a new soccer field on K-1 playground and repainted football fields on 2nd-5th playgrounds
  • Pressure washed dirt, cobwebs and grime from front and side entrances
Thanks to a great group of youth.  You worked with joy.  We really appreciate it.
