Sacajawea’s Students Enjoy a Puppet Show!

 Caxton Printers sponsored Sacajawea’s second and third grade students’ attendance at “Legends of Coyote” at Jewitt Auditorium.  This puppet show had stories of trickster coyote getting into all kinds of silly situations.  The students laughed so much.  Thank you Caxton Printers for providing this wonderful opportunity to our students!

Last week, the Caldwell Rotary Club gave new books to all of the second grade students at Sacajawea Elementary School. Each student got a book based on his or her interests.The students were so excited to get the books and their faces just glowed when they received them.  Thanks again to the Caldwell Rotary Club for getting a book in the hands of each of our second graders!

¡Gracias al Rotary Club de Caldwell!

La semana pasada, el Rotary Club de Caldwell entregó nuevos libros a todos los estudiantes de segundo grado de la Escuela Primaria Sacajawea. Cada estudiante tiene un libro basado en sus intereses. Los estudiantes estaban tan emocionados de conseguir los libros que sus rostros se iluminaron cuando los recibieron. ¡Gracias de nuevo al Rotary Club de Caldwell por poner un libro en manos de cada uno de nuestros estudiantes de segundo grado!

Let’s walk to school!

October 2nd is Walk to School Day and we would like to invite all of our students that are able to walk or bike to school, to do just that!

Mrs. Hernandez, along with other volunteers will be waiting for all of our walkers and bikers out in three central locations, helping them celebrate Walk to School Day. The three locations will be the front of the school, the bike rack area and the Kinder and 1st playground. Each student that checks in with either Mrs. Hernandez or our volunteers will get a chance to win a bike!

¡Caminemos a la escuela!


El 2 de octubre es el Día de Caminar a la Escuela y nos gustaría invitar a todos nuestros estudiantes que puedan caminar o andar en bicicleta a la escuela, ¡que lo hagan!

La Sra. Hernández, junto con otros voluntarios, estarán esperando a todos nuestros caminantes y ciclistas en tres lugares centrales, ayudándolos a celebrar el Día de Caminar a la Escuela. Los tres lugares serán el frente de la escuela, el área del portabicicletas y el patio de juegos de Kinder y primer grado. ¡Cada estudiante que se registre con la Sra. Hernández o con nuestros voluntarios tendrá la oportunidad de ganar una bicicleta!

Espero ver muchas caras felices mañana por la mañana!

Need Help - Assembling Lab Tables - SAC STEM Center

Know someone who loves to put furniture together.  I (Mr. Webster) need a couple people to help me assemble several lab tables for our new STEM Center at Sacajawea.  We are super excited to get this up and running.  If you are available to help on Saturday or Sunday, please go to this Doodle Poll (LINK) to let me know your availability.  Possible work times include Saturday AM, Saturday Afternoon, or Sunday Afternoon.

SAC 5th Graders Study Stream Science

Mrs. Rudan's 5th grade class had the chance to travel to the Boise Water Shed to do some hands-on science related to streams. What a great opportunity to do STEM learning that matters.

Rotation #1: Toilet horseshoes and water testing for turbidity, pH, temp &  oxygen

Rotation #2: Macro invertebrate collection and identification

Rotation #3: Tour of "the chocolate river"... right after lunch 🤪🤢

Rotation #4: Hands-on Educational center

Sacajawea's Picture Day is Coming On Sept. 10th!

Get ready to smile for the camera!  Sacajawea's picture day is Sept. 10th.  Here are some suggestions on what to do and wear for the best picture:

Kids Yoga

Starting September 3rd, Sacajawea students will be able to participate in Kids Yoga. Kids Yoga is a partnership between University of Idaho 4-H Extension and our school. This is the second year we will partner up and provide yoga to our kids. We invite all of our parents to share the schedule with their kids and encourage them to participate. 

Yoga will be held Tuesday and Thursdays, from 8:30 a.m to 8:50 a.m. Students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will have yoga on Tuesdays and students 3rd grade through 5th grade will have yoga on Thursdays!

A partir del 3 de septiembre, los estudiantes de Sacajawea podrán participar en Kids Yoga. Kids Yoga es una asociación entre la Extensión 4-H de la Universidad de Idaho y nuestra escuela. Este es el segundo año que nos asociamos y brindamos yoga a nuestros estudiantes. Invitamos a todos nuestros padres a compartir el horario con sus hijos y animarlos a participar. 

El yoga se llevará a cabo los martes y jueves, de 8:30 a.m. a 8:50 a.m. ¡Los estudiantes de kinder a segundo grado tendrán yoga los martes y los estudiantes de tercero a quinto grado tendrán yoga los jueves!

A Book and A Bite - Let’s have fun one more time!

The summer is almost over and school is about to begin! We can’t end the summer without the last Book and A Bite! We would like to invite you all to join us Tuesday, August 6th for our final day! A Book and A Bite has been an incredible opportunity for kids and parents to stay engaged with books, and participate in fun activities!  We hope that all the families that joined us these past weeks have had a great time.

Thank you to RISE Treasure Valley Partnership, Idaho Public Television, Delta Dental of Idaho, University of Idaho 4-H Extension, Caldwell Public Library and so many other partners that have made this summer experience possible! Also, a great big thank you to Mr. Webster and the amazing Sacajawea staff that came out of their summer vacation to spend time with their students!  Thank you all!  See you Tuesday, August 6th from 11:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m!  It’s time to give the bikes away!

Un libro y un bocado - ¡Divirtámonos una vez más!

¡El verano casi ha terminado y la escuela está por comenzar! ¡Y no podemos terminar el verano sin el último Libro y un bocado! ¡Nos gustaría invitarlos a unirse a nosotros el martes 6 de agosto para nuestro último día! ¡Un libro y un bocado ha sido una oportunidad increíble para que los niños y sus padres se mantengan comprometidos con los libros y participen en actividades divertidas!
Esperamos que todas las familias que se unieron a nosotros estas últimas semanas la hayan pasado muy bien con todos nosotros.
